Two more community development projects of the AFP were completed in Barangay 870 and Barangay 865 in Pandacan, Manila on 23 December 2008. Turnover and Acceptance Ceremonies were held in respective barangay halls to conclude the implemented projects.
CPT MAJAN M SAHIAL (CE) PA, Commander of 2nd Community Development Company of the Civil-Military Operations Battalion, CMOG,PA and MAJ ANDRES C SUNIO PAF of 356th Aviation Engineer Group, Philippine Air Force jointly conducted the turnover ceremonies with the presence of respective Barangay Council. The projects completed were the repair of Barangay Day Care Center in Brgy 870 and the rehabilitation of septic tank of the Barangay Hall in Barangay 865. The repaired Day Care Center has made the center even more conducive and comfortable for play and learning to some sixty children in the Barangay. The rehabilitated septic tank on the other hand gave more convenience to the day care children and barangay constituents while using the facilities of the Barangay Hall.
Barangay Captains’ TONYMIKE B MARTINEZ and VIOLETA IGNACIO relayed their gratitude to the AFP for the improvement projects implemented. They further conveyed in their messages their continuing support to the other community activities of the soldiers and to the government as whole. CPT SAHIAL in return informed the barangays of the continuing organizing efforts of the CMO Battalion, specifically 2nd CODE to the area and the willingness to extend more assistance to the barangays even tough the deployment of troops in their areas ended.
The abovementioned barangays are among the beneficiaries of the AFP’s continuing effort of providing community development projects in Metro Manila.
