CMOBn Soldiers in Action in Commonwealth

 

The 3rd Community Organizing and Development Company, Civil Military Operations Battalion, Civil Military Operations Group, Philippine Army under MAJ WILLIAM G TABAS deployed one squad in Unit 7, Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City to conduct CMO operations to bring to the less fortunate residents the needed basic social services by bridging the gap between local government and the populace.

Last October 15-18, 2007, team led by 2LT MA LOURDES S BOMEDIANO together with the National Government Center (NGC) headed by Dra. Antonieta Molina conducted “DOOR - TO DOOR BAKUNA” (KNOCK OUT TIGDAS), a vaccination activity to children between ages 9 to 48 month olds at Lower and Upper Nawasa, Unit 7, Brgy Commonwealth, Quezon City.

 

The objectives of the activity were as follows:

1. To eliminate cases of tigdas (measles) by the year 2008;
2. To establish a surveillance system about epidemic cases such as measles;

3. To achieve measles elimination from children, ages 9 months to 48 months old

         nationwide; and
4. To prevent the spread out of measles in the area.
 

The three (3) day activity was benefited by more or less 150 children and the residents of Lower and Upper Nawasa, Unit 7, Brgy Commonwealth were very thankful to the the health workers and troops who jointly conducted the activity.
